Contamination

Pet Stain & Odor

Urine is a chemical problem, not a stain problem, and it does not respond to surface cleaning.

Method

How it is done

Urine passes straight through the pile into the foundation and dries into crystalline salts. Those salts are hygroscopic — they draw humidity back out of the air, which is why the smell returns on damp days months after the accident. Treatment means flushing the salts out entirely and neutralising what remains, then washing the rug conventionally.

Why It Matters

What happens if it waits

Deodorising sprays mask the smell for a few days and add moisture, which reactivates it. Enzyme treatments applied to the surface never reach the foundation where the problem actually is.

Tell-tale sign: A smell that comes back when the weather turns humid, or a stain edge that is darker than its centre.
